For this project, the auction pool will consist of the players from the following World Series teams, below is a brief summary of each squad.

1909 Detroit Tigers

The 1909 Detroit Tigers had an impressive season, finishing with a 98–54 record. Led by the exceptional Ty Cobb, who batted .377 and stole 76 bases. Pitcher George Mullin anchored the pitching staff with 29 wins. The Tigers clinched the American League pennant but fell to the Pirates in the World Series. Their blend of speed and pitching made them a formidable team that year.

1936 New York Giants

The 1936 New York Giants had a solid season, finishing with a 92–62 record. Driven by the bats of Mel Ott and Bill Terry, the Giants’ offense was potent. Pitcher Carl Hubbell, known for his screwball, anchored the pitching staff. They clinched the National League pennant but were defeated by the Yankees in the World Series. 

1946 St.Louis Cardinals

The 1946 St. Louis Cardinals had a terrific season, finishing with a 98–58 record. Key players like Stan Musial, who hit .365, and Enos Slaughter powered the offense. The pitching staff, led by Howie Pollet, was formidable. The Cardinals clinched the National League pennant and triumphed over the Red Sox in a thrilling seven-game World Series, with Slaughter’s “Mad Dash” becoming legendary.

1985 Kansas City Cardinals

The 1985 Kansas City Royals had an unforgettable season, finishing with a 91–71 record. George Brett led the team offensively, and Bret Saberhagen was a star on the mound, winning the Cy Young Award. The Royals captured the American League pennant and then staged a dramatic comeback to win the World Series against the Cardinals in seven games. A season defined by resilience and clutch performances.

2005 Chicago White Sox

The 2005 Chicago White Sox had a remarkable season, finishing with a 99–63 record. Paul Konerko and Jermaine Dye led the offense, while the pitching staff, highlighted by Mark Buehrle, was dominant. The White Sox cruised through the playoffs, ultimately sweeping the Astros to win their first World Series title since 1917. 

2018 Boston Red Sox

The 2018 Boston Red Sox had an exceptional season, posting a 108–54 record. Mookie Betts, who won the AL MVP, and J.D. Martinez led a powerful offense. The pitching staff, highlighted by Chris Sale, was outstanding. The Red Sox dominated the postseason, culminating in a World Series victory over the Dodgers. Their blend of hitting, pitching, and defense made them one of the most formidable teams in baseball history.
